September 1, 2007 - August 31, 2008
The Warrior Run Area Fire Department Ambulance memberships are now due for renewal. The memberships will be in effect from September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008.
The Turbotville Volunteer Fire Company is now a part of the Warrior Run Area Fire Department. Those areas that were previously served by the Turbotville Fire Company will continue to be serviced with the same service that was provided for many years.
Through a cooperative agreement with Evangelical Community Hospital, the Warrior Run Area Fire Department offers 24 hour a day, seven day a week fully staffed emergency medical technicians. In addition, we also have in service three additional ambulances that are staffed by volunteers to accommodate the ever-increasing call volume that our community is experiencing.
In addition to the invitation to have an ambulance membership, you also have an invitation to be covered for benefits that would include fire and rescue services. For an additional five dollars, this added benefit will cover any costs not covered by your insurance carrier as does your ambulance membership. You may elect to add this benefit to your household as well with the understanding that this fire/rescue benefit will only cover those that are over the age of 18 that permanently reside at your residence. It does not cover anyone who visits or travels to and from your residence.
Remember, we must, by law, bill everyone that we transport, or provide rescue services to. There are instances where we will not, or the receiving hospital will not have your insurance information. If this is the case, you will receive a bill to forward to your insurance carrier yourself.
Your membership in both cases will cover anything not covered by your insurance carrier. Should your insurance carrier decide that certain items are not covered, you will not be responisble for the costs if you are a member in good standing with the Warrior Run Area Fire Department. It is required by law that we have a signed card on file that you are to return with your remittance. If this card is not signed and returned, your insurance carrier may not honor payment and you may be responsible for the billing costs.
If you have not received a membership application
and would like to become a member of the Warrior Run Area Fire
Department
ambulance association, you may pick up an application at the
Watsontown Borough office, Delaware Township building, Turbotville Fire Company or the
fire headquarters
at 1125 Main Street Watsontown.
In addition, this benefit is only available to those residents
that reside in our coverage area.
