The Warrior Run Area Fire Department in conjunction
with WNEP-TV will have for residents of the Warrior Run Area
Fire Department coverage area, which includes the Townships of
Gregg and Delaware, Borough’s of McEwensville and Watsontown,
and the Village’s of Allenwood and Dewart, free smoke detectors
that can be picked up at the Warrior
Run Area Fire Department Headquarters located at 1125 Main Street,
Watsontown on Tuesday evenings or Wednesday mornings.
In addition, the fire department will be on hand to demonstrate
rescue equipment using vehicles and hydraulic equipment and to
offer an open house for tours and questions as to the services
that we provide.
As we enter the most dangerous season of the year for structural
fires and fire fatalities, we want to do our part to make sure
that the residents of our communities that we serve have a properly
working smoke detector as an early warning device to alert them
to any fire danger that may occur at their residence. Because
most fire fatalities occur between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and
6:00 a.m., it is essential that every family have this kind of
equipment in their home. We are so committed to ensure that each
family has a smoke detector, that the battery will even be included.
The Warrior Run Area Fire Department will have representatives
on hand to instruct you in the proper placement of these smoke
detectors. If the situation presents itself that you cannot install
your smoke detector, please do not allow that to keep you away,
we will send our representatives to install it for you.
We are very excited to be a part of this program and are grateful
to WNEP-TV for allowing our participation. We will have 300 smoke
detectors to give out, so it will be on a first come, first serve
basis. We very much look forward to meeting the residents of
our community, sharing our resources, and doing our part to give
you equipment free of charge that could save your life.
